From the recent appointment of the Principal of St .Bede’s college Ashing Kom, things have changed from bad to worse.
He came up with the policy of sending away children from the campus for the so called extra contribution for the house feast that was instituted by the Catholic educational agency to commemorate some saints, which the catholic does.
As the academic year roles on, the number of suspensions keep increasing, as we pause to ask if this schools were created for saints that the children worship and if these children who we all call the leaders of tomorrow, could not be brought up in the Christ like manner that we all stand for.
The 17th of March saw the marching order given for some seventeen students or more for some minor faults. The day before some other students were given the marching order for sexual immorality .How can a father(priest) of the church seat in a school and all these will happen? This is a priest who leads by thread, from teachers to students and thinks he knows all and those placed under his authority know nothing, just like the papal infallibility. These are the people who think teachers should not be paid, but they should eat and drive in very flashy cars.
The church in Cameroon has seen some vices which the clergy is in support although the preach virtue the practice vice.
His nephew slapped a child which eventually the child had to bleed; no finger was raised up for that crime which had been spelt out clearly by the schools rule and regulation. This nephew of his was appointed senior prefect of the college, by the out going administration. The other prefects who were involved in such show of force were given the maximum suspension, but this nephew of his never went out for a days work.
Which is more serious, is outrageous brutality or some so called extra contribution that was made by students?
There are some members of the administrative staff who what ever the Principal does, they take with a smile and say yes father. They have formed a cyst around him and are ready to answer any questions for his actions which I don’t know if it is the Holy Spirit who leads him or what spirit that leads him to such decisions.
It is interesting to note that his office has been the BMM of the campus. Teachers or students who reject a decision are called to that office, upon return; they are as soft as food ready for swallowing. All of them singing the good praises of the most high that seats and controls the BMM. More will be your in the subsequent editions, so watch out.
