United Media Incorporated- Common Initiative Group, created in 1994 was formalised in 2000. The CIG is registered under Reg. No NW/GP/27/04/8691 of February 21, 2001 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Cooperatives and Common Initiative Groups.

UMI today owns the license to the following newspapers: Postwatch Magazine (ISSN-0070-051X) published online at www.postwatchmagazine.com Postwatch is franchised by the government of Cameroon under license 00065/RDDJ/J06/BASC of 5th July 1995 first registered as Rhumsiki. UMI owns The Times, Daily Times ([email protected]), Business Times, Times Magazine (Reg 863/AR/E29/1111/vOL. 7) and Cameroon Today ([email protected]) 00045/RDDJ/J06/BASC of 22nd February 1994.

UMI is also the owner of the Cameroon Business NetworkYaounde and Maroua. UMI also owns UMI-AMD and Grassroots TV or GR-TV.

Registered under the UMIfranchise is the Bamenda College of Communications whose programme was developed in collaboration with the Bamenda University of Science and Technology, BUST.

Mission

The Bamenda College of Communications, BCC, is a comprehensive, community, communications College providing technical, transfer, corporate, adult basic and continuing education programmes, and support services that are innovative, flexible, responsive to the students, the labour market and to the community. This College offers a lasting learning opportunity for diverse learners through traditional and alternative delivery systems. This College also supports economic growth and opportunity through the work force development and community development through partnerships with the public and private sectors. Graduates of Bare technically skilled and globally oriented, and prepared for the labour market.
