Come September 11, 2004, Cameroon's opposition Social Democratic Front party will convene in Bamenda to select its candidate for the 2004 presidentials. We are told that this pre-selection will only be a sort of primaries for the SDF candidate will stand the finals against the other candidates from Cameroon's opposition collective called the CNRR or National Coalition for Reconciliation and Reconstruction. Questions: Will ALL SDF members be involved? Has there been any grand reconciliation in the SDF? Will those who resigned from the SDF be involved? Will the election take place in the so-called National Secretariat of the SDF located right inside Mr. Fru Ndi's house in Ntarinkon? Does this not offer an unfair advantage to Mr. Fru Ndi? Can a party that has shown that it cannot reconcile with its own children now preach reconciliation of all Cameroonians? Surely, we begin to wonder....And as we wonder we foray into the chekered past of the SDF....
